scarce, Indian Arnachellum of Salem 19th century Bowie knife.

Tamil Nadu was a famous producer of high quality knives during the Victorian era which were popular with British officers.

This example has a very stout blade just shy of 7" long, & 1.5" wide. 11.5" overall. Undamaged stag horn grips. leather covered wooden scabbard with spring retaining clip. Some loss of the leather covering to the bottom of scabbard. Grips and guard tight with no movement, a nice chunky antique knife.

Ex David Hayden-Wright collection.
