WW1 German M17 rifle grenade, aka the 'Ink Pot'
Very similar to the French V.B grenade in operation, launched from a cup with a live round, not a blank.

Excellent non dug example with matching makers mark 'BCM' to top & bottom sections of the body. good thread, leather gasket still present.

Marked 'INERT' in white stencil, so likely ex museum
Much original finish. Scarce in good condition, this example well above the usual condition these are offered in. INERT/F.F.E
